About us
The Ethiopian Industrial Federation of Construction, Wood, Metal, Cement & Allied Trade Unions is one of nine industrial federations under the Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU), representing workers across the construction and building-materials sector. Officially registered in Addis Ababa in 2012, the Federation organizes laborers from diverse sub-sectors including construction, woodworking, metal fabrication, cement production, and allied industries As an umbrella body, it coordinates collective bargaining, defends labor rights, and liaises with both government and employers on policy issues—all in line with CETU’s mission to protect workers in key economic sectors. Member advocacy covers critical industries such as cement (including major producers like Mugher, Messebo, Habesha, Derba, and Lemi National Cement factories) along with construction contractors affiliated via the Construction Contractors Association of Ethiopia (CCAE) . They support over 2,500 registered construction companies and engage in activities ranging from capacity-building trainings to policy advocacy and industry exhibitions.
